FAQ
What do I need from my vet?
We require that all puppies be at least 4 months old. Dogs over 6 months old must be spayed or neutered. We need proof of Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella. We also require proof of a negative fecal exam from within the past 6 months.
Should I bring anything for my dog?
Daycare: Dogs should be fed before and/or after daycare. If you still feed your puppy 3 times a day you may pack his or her lunch in a Ziploc baggie labeled with their name. Because so many dogs have sensitive tummies and allergies, we do not offer snacks or biscuits.
Boarding: We recommend you bring your own food for your dog. If you prefer to use ours, we feed a premium pork based food by Eagle Pac. Everyone is provided with a comfortable orthopedic cot that keeps them elevated off the ground and dry. We do not accept any bedding, blankets, bowls, rawhide or toys from home.
What are your hours?
Monday -Friday we are here 6:30am – 12:00pm and 1:30pm – 6:00pm. We close from 12:00pm -1:30pm for nap. Saturday we are open 10:00am – 4:00pm with no nap. We are closed on Sundays.
Can I pick up my dog on a Sunday?
Yes, we offer pick up times from 8:00am – 9:00am or 4:00pm – 5:00pm. Because of our abbreviated hours, we do not charge an additional daycare fee for the afternoon pickup on Sunday.
What Time is Checkout?
Boarding dogs may be checked out anytime during our business hours. If you pick up after 12:00pm you will be charged for daycare.
What if I can’t pick up my dog by closing time, do you have after hours pickup?
We do not offer any after-hours pickups. If you are not here by closing time, your dog will be fed and put to bed for the night. You can pick them up the following morning and you will be charged an overnight fee.
Does my dog get to play on Sunday?
Yes, although we are closed for daycare on Sunday we come in to feed and give potty breaks to all the dogs. They get 2 hrs of playtime in the morning and 2 hrs in the afternoon while we clean and disinfect their runs, and prep their meals.
Will my dog get hurt?
Our main concern at The Crate Escape is your dog’s health and safety. The playgroups are supervised 100% of the time. Our staff does their best to prevent any altercations before they happen. While injuries are not common, dogs will be dogs. They sometimes play rough and use their teeth. Ear nicks and scratches are the most common injury. Our staff is trained in pet first aid and will clean and bandage small wounds as needed. In the event that your dog has sustained more than a superficial injury, we will contact you and transport your dog to the vet.
What happens if my dog gets sick?
If a dog becomes ill while in the care of the Crate Escape, our staff will assess the situation. We will contact you, and transport your dog to the vet if necessary. We will act as liaison between you or your emergency contact and the vet to help insure your dog receives the best care possible.
Can I visit the facility?
We are happy to give tours of our facility. We ask that you make an appointment if you would like to come in Monday-Friday. You are welcome to stop by anytime between 10:30am -3:30pm on Saturday. We are closed on Sunday.
Do you walk the dogs?
We do not walk dogs. All the dogs staying with us participate in daycare during the day, and get plenty of exercise playing with their friends.
Is there anyone here at night?
The staff does a final walk at 6:00pm to make sure everyone has eaten and is settled in for the evening. We have found that by having a staff member stay throughout the night the dogs are less inclined to sleep, and are unable to get the rest they need to participate in the next day’s activities.
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
Our cancellation policy is 48 hours prior to your scheduled check in date. If you do not give us proper notice, you will be charged for the days you have booked.
Can my dogs stay together?
Yes two dogs from the household may share a room. Please let us know when making your reservation and we will be happy to apply a discounted rate for the second dog.
