Beat the Heat!
The most common question we hear this time of year is “Do you have air conditioning?” It’s a fair question, we all want to be sure our dogs are comfortable in the heat. As far as boarding is concerned, the sleeping quarters are air conditioned and kept nice and cool. As you know, the play area is indoor/outdoor and the large overhead doors are always open. This space is not air conditioned, but we do have a GIANT ceiling fan with blades that look like an airplane propellor! It moves a lot of air and keeps the temperature comfortable for the dogs. We always have plenty of fresh, cool water available, and kiddie pools for splashing. We even bring out the sprinklers on very hot days. We always make sure to pay extra close attention to everyone on hot summer days, and anyone who appears to be overheating will get an extra break in the A/C.
Don’t wait until the last minute to make your summer reservations, space if filling up fast!
Welcome new friends!
I’d like to give a warm welcome to all our new friends from Doggy Daycare and Lodging. For those of you who are still looking for a new school for your pups, I would like to invite you to come and check us out. I think you’ll find we have a very clean and very professional facility that your dog will love! Plus, a lot of their old friends have already started coming here!
Back online!
After a little splicing and dicing, the little dog cam is back up and running!
Webcam problems? Blame Chester!
Chester was angry that I went out of town this weekend without him. He ate my down vest, Uggs, his bed, some paper towels, and the power cord for the webcams. Only the Small Dog Room Cam (Camera 1) is down. The rest are working just fine. I will try and get it up and running as soon as possible. I apologize for the inconvenience!
We have power!
We have power and are open for business!

Knowing what to do in the initial moments can be critical to your pet’s life. Thanks to the Red Cross, pet owners can equip themselves with first aid skills. American Red Cross Pet First Aid classes give pet owners the confidence and skills necessary to tend to unexpected emergencies until they can get their pet to a veterinarian. Many Red Cross chapters across the country offer classes with hands-on training in Pet First Aid procedures. Part 1 of this seminar will teach you: Recognize an emergency; Perform first aid; Treat common problems and emergencies requiring immediate attention; and stock a pet first aid kit. Part 2 will be pet CPR training.
Part 1 is Sunday, April 17. 10:00 am at The Crate Escape
Each part in the series is 4 hrs. Take either one for $45 or both for $80!
About the Instructor: Mary Ellen Paquette, Canine Behaviorist at Canine Cadre received her instructor certification and recertification for Adult, infant/child and Pet First Aid and CPR in 2005 and 2010
